TODAY AT NEWTON

Funeral services were held today at Newton for the Rev. William H. Warrior, 80, retired Methodist minister. Rev. Warrior of Grinnell, died early Friday at a Des Moines hospital.

Officiating at the services were Dr. Arthur V. Long, minister of the Newton First Methodist church, and Dr. Lawrence H. Athey, associate minister.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Warrior, he was born July 4, 1882, at Bridgewater. On Sept. 11, 1904, at Bridgewater, he was united in marriage with Ina M. Orton.

He served churches at Carl, Arispe, Prescott, Gravity, Blockton-Redding, Adair and Griswold and for five years after his retirement was supply pastor at Hancock. He was minister of visitation at Newton for five years and also served the Bethel church south of Grinnell.

Survivors include his widow, Ina; two sons, Wayne of Grinnell and Wendell of Mission, Kan.; two daughters, Mrs. William (Charlotte) Plessinger of Orlando, Fla.; and Mrs. Olin (Fern) Bissell of Newton; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Also surviving are five sisters: Mrs. Jennie Sullivan of Bridgewater, Mrs. Harold Brown of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Bessie McVey of Greenfield, Mrs. Rosie Curry of Creston, and Mrs. Paul Carlson of Albuquerque, N.M.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Ray.
