OBITUARY.

George W. Jones was born in Ohio, August 4, 1829, departed this life Dec. 6, 1904.

In 1854 he was married to Miss Jane Bailey. One child, Melisa, born of this union, still survives.

After living a number of years in Ohio, Mr. Jones moved to Wisconsin and later to Nebraska in which state he resided for nineteen years.

June 4, 1903, Mrs. Jones died after a lingering illness and Mr. Jones came to Grinnell remaining here until his death. The last illness was brief. A severe attack of pneumonia proved too much for the enfeebled frame. The funeral services were held at home Tuesday at 1 p.m. and in the evening the remains were sent to Lebanon, Nebr., for interment.

Mr. Jones was converted in the army and has been a consistent Christian. For the past year he has been a faithful member of the United Presbyterian church. He leaves a number of relatives and a large circle of friends to mourn their loss.
