MRS. NORA L. THOMPSON RUMSEY

Mrs. Nora L. Thompson Rumsey died June 29, 1914, of tuberculosis, at her summer camp in the foothills of the mountains at Newhall, near Los Angeles, Calif.

Deceased was born in Jasper county, Iowa, and was 41 years, 12 days old. She attended school in Grinnell and was a successful teacher for ten years.

She then went to Alva, Oklahoma, where she attended the State Normal a term. Here she met and married Edwin L. Rumsey.

She leaves a husband, one son, Lyle, eight years old, mother, brother, and sister to mourn their loss.

Her father died four years ago.

She lived in New Mexico a while, but her health continued to fail, then with her family, she moved to California four years ago, in hope of regaining her health; but she gradually failed until the end came as a relief of pain and suffering.

She was a very kind, loving wife and mother, continually doing good deeds for others until the very last.

She was so good; how we miss her. She died with all hope for eternal life, and her one request was to teach her son not to fear death.

The remains were laid to rest in the beautiful North Pasadena cemetery, where kind words of the dead, comforting and helpful thoughts for the living, were imparted in the services conducted over the remains by Dr. Patterson of Pasadena, at whose church she was baptized, two years ago. The texts used were First Corinthians, chapter four, verse thirteen; First Corinthians, chapter fifteen, verse fifty-five.
