OBITUARY.

CAROLINE R. COLLINS-GREEN

Caroline R. Collins was born in Wisconsin, Nov. 1, 1844, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ida Stark, Newburg, Ia., Aug. 7, 1916, aged 71 years, 9 months, and 6 days.

She moved with her parents to Le Claire, Ia., in 1845. Her mother died the same year. She was united in marriage to Eli S. Green, Sept. 4, 1864. In 1884 she and her husband moved to Jasper county, where with the exception of short intervals of residence in other sections, she resided until her death.

She united with the Baptist church more than 50 years ago, and through her long life has ever tested and trusted the Father's promise to His children. A true Christian, a devoted mother, a helpful neighbor, and a friend to all, she leaves many to mourn her loss.

Her husband, two children, Mrs. Fannie S. Rowe and Carrie E. Green, have preceded her to the better land. The living children are A.P. Green and L.C. Green, both of Newton; Mrs. Abbie A. Rowe of Mabton, Wash.; C. A. Green and Mrs. Ida E. Stark of Newburg.

Mrs. Green's final illness was of a dropsical nature, but she was not confined to her bed and the end came very suddenly and unexpectedly of heart failure.

The interment was at the Hickory Grove cemetery, the funeral services being conducted by Rev. V.B. Hill of Gilman.--Gilman Dispatch.
