LAVERNE K. ANTHONY

LaVerne K. Anthony, 82, of Loveland died July 9, 2004, at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins.

She was born Jan. 20, 1922, in Brooklyn, Iowa, to Quinton Otto Montgomery and Agnes Evelyn Norris. She graduated from high school in 1940 in Fort Collins.

She married Donald Anthony Jan. 4, 1942, in Brooklyn. She moved to Loveland in 1957.

Mrs. Anthony was employed as a retail salesperson at J.C. Penney's for many years, then was employed as a hardware sales specialist for Ferguson Hardware for many years.

She will be greatly missed by her great-grandson, Steve Parsons, and the special times they spent together.

She was a member of the Prime Timers Club at Timberline Church. She enjoyed playing bridge and a game called "hand and foot."

She is survived by daughters Susan Parsons of Loveland and Carol Ann Casey and husband Steve of Boise, Idaho; grandchildren Donna Kay Byrd and husband Bob of Chehalis, Wash., Shelly Shoup of Loveland, Laura L. Hettrick and husband Jason of Greeley, Erin Montgomery and husband Duane of Boise, Amber Gilbertson and husband Chris of Norfolk, Va., Brian McDaniel and wife Lori of Boise, and Scott McDaniel of Boise; 15 great-grandchildren; brother Don E. Montgomery and wife Marilyn of Alamosa; and sister-in-law Opal Septer and husband Paul of Montezuma, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Anthony, on April 16, 1992, in Loveland. They were married 50 years. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Parsons, Aug. 29, 1964.

A celebration of life memorial service will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday at Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Chapel, the Rev. Darren Fred of Timberline Church of Fort Collins officiating.

Inurnment will be conducted at a later date at Rest-haven Memory Gardens in Fort Collins.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Laverne K. Anthony Memorial Fund in care of Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Home.
