RITES HELD FOR MR. POSTMA

Charlie A. Postma, 93, of Deep River died Saturday, Sept. 27, at Grinnell General Hospital.

Funeral services were conducted Sept. 30 at the United Church of Deep River, with the Rev. Mary M. Thiel officiating. Pallbearers were Floyd Postma, Kurt Kuster, David Danforth, Max Kuster, Mark Kuster and Stanley Kosiba. Burial was in Silent City Cemetery at Monroe, with the Watts Funeral Home of Montezuma in charge of arrangements.

The son of William and Carolyn Postma, he was born on Nov. 3, 1892, at Rock Valley. He spent most of his childhood and young-adult years with his parents on a farm five miles east of Monroe.

On Feb. 28, 1915, he was married to Tena Earle near Monroe. They farmed at Reasnor, Prairie City and Monroe before moving to a farm near Deep River in 1937. They retired and moved into Deep River in 1963. Mr. Postma attended the Methodist Church and later the United Church in Deep River.

He is survived by one son, Floyd Postma of Grinnell; one daughter, Wilma Kuster of Joliet, Ill.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; two sisters, Cecyle Main and Gladys Rucker, both of Newton; and one brother Clayton Postma of Newton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Tena; an infant daughter, Joan; three brothers and two sisters.
