The daughter of Alexander and Marian Carswell Montgomery, she was born on April 21, 1882, at Owaneco, Ill. She moved to Grinnell in 1953 and made her home at Mayflower Home and was active in the Christian Education and women's programs of the Grinnell Congregational church.

Mrs. Shandley is survived by her brother, Dr. Royal J. Montgomery of Mayflower Home.
