E.J. SULLIVAN, 69, FORMER GRINNELL BUSINESSMAN, DIES
E.J. Sullivan, 69, a former Grinnell businessman, died suddenly Dec. 31st at Tucson, Ariz. He had resided at Davenport for the past 25 years.
During the 1920s, Sullivan was owner and operator of the Rex Cigar Store here.
Funeral services were held today (Monday) from St. Paul the Apostle church in Davenport with interment at Mount Calvary cemetery there.
He was born at Kankakee, Ill., on Jan. 24th, 1895. In 1917, at Davenport, he was united in marriage with Alice Lannan.
Survivors include his wife, Alice; one son, James L. Sullivan of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and three daughters, Mrs. James C. Stopulos of Davenport, Mrs. Clyde Marlak of Tucson, Ariz., and Mrs. Elizabeth Pannos of Iowa City.
