RITES HELD FOR HARVEY WILKINS

Harvey Edward Wilkins, 66, of 507 Fourth Ave., Grinnell, died Thursday morning at Grinnell General Hospital.

Funeral services for Mr. Wilkins were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Morris Hay, pastor of the Hickory Grove Church, officiating. Organist was Mrs. Willard Heffner, and pallbearers were Ronald Johnston, Leroy Meredith, Lyle Meredith, Jim Simbro, Jim Wilkins and Robert Wilkins. Burial was at Mt. Pleasant cemetery northwest of Grinnell.

The son of Edward W. and Belle Whitcomb Wilkins, he was born Aug. 25, 1909, in Hickory Grove Township, Jasper County. He attended rural school near his home. Mr. Wilkins had worked on farms for most of his life. He moved to Grinnell in 1960.

He is survived by one brother, Denton E. Wilkins of Rte. 1, Grinnell, and one half-sister, Mrs. Phillip (Lila) Krumm of Columbia, S.C. He was preceded in death by his parents.
