RITES HELD FOR MRS. HAMILTON
Rena A. Hamilton, 81, of Ewart died Wednesday, Jan. 5, at Grinnell General Hospital.
Funeral services were conducted Jan. 8 at the Watts Funeral Home in Montezuma, with the Rev. Martin Gruneich of the Ewart United Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial was at Pleasant Township Cemetery at Ewart.
The daughter of John and Amelia Strong, she was born Dec. 19, 1901, at Malcom. She attended school at Malcom and moved with her parents to the Montezuma area in 1914. On Dec. 13, 1921, she was married to Lester Hamilton.
Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton owned and operated a grocery store in Ewart, and she was also the post office manager there for many years. She was a longtime member of the Ewart United Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her son, Keith Hamilton of St. Joseph, Mo.; four grandchildren; and one sister, Aletha Simpson of Montezuma. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1972, and one brother and two sisters.
