MRS. C.L. SCHUYLER DIES IN CALIF.

Word was received this morning by Mrs. Mary Sutherland of the death of Mrs. C.L. Schuyler at her home in Berkeley, Calif. The funeral was held Sunday and burial was at that place.

Mrs. C.L. Schuyler was one of the early settlers in this place and at the time of her death was about 85 years old.

She will be recognized here by the younger generation as the mother of David Schuyler whose wife was Jessie Harriman Schuyler and who lived here until two or three years ago when she moved permanently to California.

In the early days of this city, C.L. Schuyler was a leading clothier and was well and actively known and recognized as a successful man in business here. His wife, Mrs. C.L. Schuyler, graduated from college in 1865 and all the years has retained her interest in the college. She was a lady of much talent and her death will be mourned by all the early timers in Grinnell.
