OLIVER SISCO

Oliver Sisco, who died at three o'clock Tuesday morning, at the home of his son, Mervin Sisco in Rock Creek township, at the age of 78 years, was born at Fairfield, Vt., on March 14, 1830. At an early age he came to Illinois and there was married to Miss Amarylla Atwood. To them were born five sons and five daughters of whom five daughters and two sons survive. They are Mrs. Laura Newcomer and Mrs. Rosalla Adams of Newburg, Mrs. Ritta Mullen of Fonda; Mrs. Bell Fay of Northfield, Minn.; Mrs. Shirley Hartzell of Grinnell; Mervin Sisco and Clarence Sisco of Newburg.

In his younger days Mr. Sisco was an active man in this vicinity and was well known. All who knew him respected him and for his fine qualities of heart and mind. He was a good neighbor, honest and true, and he was a loyal and kind man to his family. His death removed one of the finest men of this community and all who knew him extend their sympathy to the bereaved children.

The funeral was held and largely attended Wednesday forenoon. The services were conducted by Rev. H.L. Wissler in the Newburg Congregational church, at 10:15 o'clock and interment beside his wife, followed in the Chester cemetery.
