OBITUARY
ALEXANDER JACOB SULSER
Alexander Jacob Sulser, son of Ulrick and Marguerita Sulser, was born in Azmos, Canton St. Gallen, Switzerland, Sept. 17, 1854. In May, 1865, the family came to America and for eleven years resided in Rock Island and Andalusia, Illinois.
He joined a German Prostestant church in Rock Island. The family consisting of the parents, three sons and six daughters, removed to Grinnell, Iowa, March, 1877.
He married Mrs. Nora Houseman, November, 1885. She and their daughter, Gladys, died many years ago. For many years his home has been at Maybell, Colorado. He was fatally injured there in an accident with his horses and died there February 15, 1913.
He was a good man, much respected by all who knew him.
He is survived by one son, Willis, and by his aged mother, two brothers, M.A. and Wm. U. Sulser, and five sisters, Mrs. P.H. Pilgrim, Mrs. A.J. Blakely; Mrs. L.M. Smith, Mrs. John Evans ann Mrs. J.H. Parratt.
Funeral was attended at the L.M. Smith home in Grinnell, Feb. 22, 1913, Rev. Dr. P.F. Marston, of the Congregational church, officiating.
Interment was in Hazelwood cemetery, beside his father.
