OBITUARY

Funeral services for Flora Dunlap Pond were held at the grave in Hazelwood cemetery Tuesday afternoon, October 9, with Rev. L.S. Faust of the Reformed Church of Oskaloosa officiating.

Flora Emma Dunlap, daughter of Lydia and Joseph Dunlap was born at Lynnville, Iowa, August 1, 1858 and died October 6, 1934 at the age of 76 years, three months and 6 days. She moved to Grinnell when quite young and spent her girlhood days here. In 1877 she married J.M. Williams and to this union one daughter, Nellie Faye, was born. Mr. Williams passed away during the first year of their marriage.

On June 10, 1882 she was united in marriage to Norman W. Pond who passed away October 8, 1930. Mrs. Pond had one step-son, Albert, now of Flint, Michigan.

In 1889 the family moved to Oskaloosa where Mrs. Pond resided until 1928 when she then moved to Omaha to reside with her daughter, Mrs. Al Smith, until her death. Besides her step-son and daughter, she is survived by a granddaughter, Maxine Powell and two great grandchildren, Faye and Keith, all of Omaha, Nebraska. Mrs. Pond joined the Methodist church in 1889 and lived a splendid Christian life. She was a member of the O.E.S., the White Shrine, the King's Daughters and the Woman's club of Oskaloosa.
