E.C. HALSEY
The sad but not unexpected news reached Grinnell Sunday morning of the death of E.C. Halsey, son-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. John Goodfellow of this city, in Monrovia, California, where for some time he has been in a sanitarium endeavoring to fight off the tuberculosis which finally ended his life. The body will be brought back to Mason City for burial and the funeral will be held from the Congregational church there at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon. Mrs. Goodfellow, mother of Mrs. Halsey, who has been in Monrovia for some time, will accompany her daughter and her two children on their journey home. They expect to reach Mason City on Thursday.
Mr. Halsey was a graduate of Grinnell College in the class of 1900. After completing his college course he turned his attention to banking and first in Tama and then in Mason city made his mark as a young business man of energy and ability. His untimely death is mourned by a wide circle of friends.
