MRS. ELLA RICKER PIERCE DIED SUNDAY IN LOS ANGELES

Mrs. Ella Ricker Pierce, widow of the late Joe Pierce, passed away Sunday in the home of her son Ralph, in Los Angeles, Calif. Another son, Herman, also lives in Los Angeles. Mrs. Pierce would have been 90 years old on March 30.

Private funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at the James funeral home with burial in Hazelwood cemetery.

Mrs. Pierce was closely associated with Grinnell. She came here in early girlhood, grew to womanhood here and after her marriage lived here for a number of years while her husband, a brother of Professor G.L. Pierce, was operating a store. Two nieces, Mrs. J.W. Gannaway and Mrs. E.S. Parish are still members of the Grinnell community.

During her residence here she was active and helpful in the Congregational church and the Searchlight club.
