OBITUARY

EFFIE LEDITH CORRICK

Effie Ledith DeVault was born in Pulaski, Davis county, Feb. 20, 1885. She was the daughter of Lafayette and Margaret DeVault. At the age of 18 in the year 1903, she was united in marriage with Thomas A. Corrick at Stiles, Iowa.

It was while residing at Stiles, that the first five children were born. In 1915 the family moved to Grinnell where the other two children were born.

The family lived in and near Grinnell for some 15 years, when in 1930, both the father, Thomas and the son, Otis, passed away. Mrs. Corrick continued to live in Grinnell until 1943, when she went to California, where she spent two years. Returning to Iowa she made her home in Marshalltown, where she passed away Jan. 16, 1952.

She was received into membership by the Christian church by the ordinance of baptism and has been faithful in her church relationship until the time of her death.

Effie Corrick was a devoted wife and mother, always ready to give help where help was needed. Her children and those who knew her best will always cherish her memory.

She leaves to mourn her passing the four sons: Otto of Keswick; Orville of Marshalltown; Homer of Norwalk, Calif.; Gilbert of Marshall, Mo.; and two daughters, Mrs. Francis Coyne, of Marshalltown and Mrs. William Plum of Decatur, Ill.; also, one brother, Ralph, who lives at Libertyville, Iowa. A sister Thersie? and a brother Travis, preceded her in death.

There are 15 grandchildren and one great grand child.
