DEATH SUMMONS PIONEER FARMER

Jacob Andrews, was born in Zurich, Switzerland, on August 9th, 1847, and died at his home in Montezuma, Iowa, at 9:15, Friday evening, January 27th, 1928, aged 80 years, 5 months and 18 days.

The family came to America when he was but a child of six years, visiting for a few months in New York State and Ohio, and finally settling in 1854 in Poweshiek County, Iowa near Brooklyn, where he grew to manhood, and received such education as the country schools then afforded.

He was married to Eliza Olive Bearnes on October 12th, 1873. To this union were born five children as follows: Mrs. Rosa May Cooper of Montezuma; John Arthur of Oskaloosa; Ira who died when 18 months old; Clarence Joseph who passed away in 1911; and Willie who died in infancy.

Mr. Andrews has been a farmer all his life near Montezuma, living for many years west of town. He came to Montezuma in 1908, where he has since lived.--Montezuma Republican.
