SR. PAULINE HORN
Sister Pauline Horn, OSF, Clinton, died Dec. 23 in Clinton.
The Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, Dec. 27, at Mount St. Clare Chapel with the Rev. Raymond Ruppenkamp officiating. Burial was in St. Irenaeus Cemetery, Clinton. Pall bearers were relatives, friends and members of the Sisters of St. Francis.
She was born Aug. 16, 1897, in Halbur, the daughter of Anthony and Frances Eichman Horn. She entered the Sisters of St. Francis Sept. 12, 1914, and professed her final vows Aug. 15, 1920. She taught school for three years in New Hampton and Denison, Iowa, and Adair, Mo. She then undertook nurse's training at Mercy Hospital, Burlington, and Mercy Hospital, Des Moines. She was a nurse for 42 years at St. Francis Hospital, Grinnell; Mercy Hospital, Burlington; St. Francis Hospital, Macomb, Ill.; and Mount Alverno, Clinton. She retired to Mount St. Clare Convent in 1962 and moved to Alverno in September, 1991.
She is survived by one sister Sally Burke, Jackson, Mo. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters including Rose Horn and Sister M. Florita, also nurses at St. Francis Hospital, and three brothers.
