GRACE PECK DIES SATURDAY
Grace Parsons Peck, 95, a resident of Grinnell, died Saturday night (Aug. 12) at Friendship Manor, following an extended illness.
The daughter of Francis and Harriet Noble Parsons, she was born Sept. 1, 1876, at Big Rock, Iowa. Her parents moved to Grinnell when she was a high school student, and she completed her education here.
She was married to Paul F. Peck, who was a professor of history at Grinnell College. The couple had two daughters, Frances Louise and Esther. Her husband preceded her in death many years ago.
For a number of years, Mrs. Peck taught English at Grinnell College. She was a member of the United Church of Christ-Congregational and Chapter J.B. of the P.E.O.
She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. James (Frances Louise) Berkey of Eugene, Ore., and her five grandchildren, Charles and Martha Ellen Berkey and Ned, Debra, and Esther Martin. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Esther Martin.
Should friends desire memorial contributions may be made to the Pilgrim Heights Camp through the United Church of Christ office.
A memorial for Mrs. Peck are being planned in the near future. The James-Schalinske Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements, and friends may call for additional information.
