WESLEY CASADY

Wesley Edward Casady, 66, of Newton, a native of Grinnell, died of heart failure Tuesday, Aug. 20, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

Graveside services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday at Our Silent City Cemetery, Kellogg, with the Rev. Mike Johnson, pastor of the Kellogg Christian Church, officiating. The Wallace-Pence Funeral Home of Newton is in charge of arrangements.

The son of Carl William and Beulah O'Hara Casady, he was born in Grinnell Oct. 20, 1929.

He served during peace time with the U.S. Army and Air Force. He was a firefighter in Newton for four years, then worked for six years as a police officer. In 1967, he worked for Parson's Co. until it closed, then at Fisher Electronics in Marshalltown. He was a past member of United Auto Workers Amalgamated Local 893 in Marshalltown.

He was married to Gloria Francis Eichholtz March 8, 1969, in Unionville, Mo.

Surviving are his wife; four sons, Carl Lamanna of Syracuse, N.Y., Cliff Casady of Buffalo, Minn., Bob Casady of Des Moines and Fred Casady of Fort Dodge; one stepson, Jim Perry of Stuart, Fla.; one daughter, Shaun Hewitt of Baxter; four stepdaughters, Jean Husebow of Laurel, Cynthia Faircloth of Newton, Sue Ann Lewis of Milwaukee, Wis., and Barbara Stubb of Tama; 22 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and one sister, Joyce Faircloth of Kellogg.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sisrer, Darlene Ettelson.
