DARLENE ETTELSON

Darlene C. Ettelson, 63, Newton, died of cancer Thursday, Sept. 26, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.

A private family memorial service was held at graveside Saturday, Sept. 28, in Memorial Park Cemetery, Newton. Memorials in her name may be left at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home, Newton.

She was born Oct. 18, 1927, in Grinnell, the daughter of Carl and Beulah O'Hara Casady and attended school in Newton, Knoxville and Indianapolis, Ind. She was married to Lyle (Moe) Ettelson July 3, 1954 in Newton. She worked for Midwest Manufacturing, Kellogg, and at the Maytag Company, Gray's Lounge and Moe's in Newton.

She is survived by her husband; two sons, Tim Ettelson, Hudson, and Ed Ettelson, Newton; one daughter Lynda Collins, Newton; 11 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one brother Wes Casady, Newton, and one sister, Joyce Faircloth, Kellogg.
