VERA WEBB

Vera Ellen Webb, 93, of Grinnell died Friday, May 3, at St. Francis Manor.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Homer Perry officiating. Organist was Alice Renaud, and soloist was Marvel May. Pallbearers were Kenneth, Gary, Henry, Glenn, Nicholas and Kane Thompson and Michael and James Webb. Burial was in Colo Cemetery, Colo.

A memorial fund has been established.

She was the daughter of Bert and Luticia Flint Shaw Gruver Sr. and was born Nov. 14, 1902, in Gruver. She was educated in several Iowa communities.

She was married to Glenn W. Webb Oct. 5, 1925, in Mason City. They lived in Rockford, Iowa Falls, Sioux Falls, S.D., and Gilman. She moved to Grinnell in 1983.

Mrs. Webb was a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star and a member of Onyx Chapter No. 350 in Gilman.

She is survived by her children, Donald of Delta, Colo., Betty Thompson of Grinnell and James of Lytle, Texas; one sister, Mabel Turner of Rockford; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers, John, Cecil, Walter and Bert Jr.; one sister, Eleanor Pringle; and one grandson.
