VICTORIA MARQUIS

Victoria Marquis, 89, of Marshalltown, the mother of Lois Hammond of Grinnell, died of a heart ailment Friday Nov. 10.

Funeral services were conducted Monday at Estel Perrin Avey Chapel in Marshallotwn, with burial in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens there. A memorial fund has been established.

The daughter of Otto and Minnie Krueger Weber, she was born June 5, 1900, at Blairstown. She received her education in Eagle Grove and Winterset schools.

On Jan. 9, 1919, she was married to Albert Marquis in Marshalltown. Mrs. Marquis was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Women of the Moose.

Surviving are three sons, Kenneth of Glendale, Calif., Howard of Spokane, Wash., and Roger of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; three daughters, Lois Hammond of Grinnell, Arlene Crane of Natchez, Miss., and Marilyn Stewart of Oxford, Iowa; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Gladys Novotny of Denver, Colo.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter in infancy, and three sisters.
