LILLY M. SCHLUE RITES WEDNESDAY

Mrs. Lilly M. Schlue, 86, of 1421 Main St., Grinnell, widow of George F. Schlue, died late Sunday evening at Grinnell General Hospital.

The daughter of A.J. and Ellen Hannah Wilson, she was born Dec. 4, 1883, at Tipton, Iowa. Her family later moved to Blairstown, Iowa, where she attended high school. She later attended Cornell College at Mt. Vernon.

On March 15, 1911, she was married to George F. Schlue at her home. The couple lived for a time in Postville, Iowa, and later in Grundy Center for 20 years. In 1931 they came to Grinnell where Mr. Schlue operated a clothing store until his retirement.

The couple continued to manage farms in the area until Mr. Schlue's death on Dec. 13, 1957.

Mrs. Schlue was a member of the Presbyterian church in Blairstown, and she was also a member of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by her sister, Mrs. Etta F. Isham of Perry, Okla., and two nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband; a brother, James A. Wilson; and a sister, Ellen F. Schulz.

Funeral services for Mrs. Schlue will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. G.S. Bruland, minister of the United Methodist church at Hawarden, officiating. Burial will be in Hazelwood Cemetery.
