LELIA SNYDER SERVICES HELD
Lelia A. Snyder, 94, of 1415 Broad St., Grinnell, died Saturday evening at St. Francis Manor.
Memorial services for Mrs. Snyder were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Philip J. Ramstad, pastor of the United Church of Christ-Congregational, officiating. Organist was Kathleen Heffner. Following cremation, burial was at Sunset Cemetery, Warrensburg, Mo. Should friends desire, memorials in Mrs. Snyder's name may be made to St. Francis Manor.
The daughter of John and Susan Heeger Achenbach, she was born Nov. 8, 1883, at Union, Mo. She moved with her family to Warrensburg, Mo., where she attended school and graduated from Warrensburg High School. She also attended Central College in Warrensburg.
On May 17, 1905, she was married to Charles Howard Snyder. The couple moved to Grinnell in 1918. Along with Mr. and Mrs. Oswald Snyder, they owned and operated Snyder Brothers Furniture and Undertaking in the Masonic Temple building for a number of years.
Mrs. Snyder was a member of the United Church of Christ-Congregational, the Attawasis Club, the Priscilla Club, and the Order of Eastern Star.
There are no immediate survivors. Mrs. Snyder was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, on Nov. 7, 1951; her parents; and two brothers and three sisters.
