ROBERT F. MARK

Robert F. Mark, 83, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Grinnell, died June 2 at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday at Bethany Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids, with burial at Murdock Linwood Cemetery.

He was born in Muscatine Oct. 30, 1907, the son of John R. and Helen Bloom Mark. After graduating from Grinnell College he taught English for several years in Grinnell. In 1940 he graduated from the University of Iowa College of Law.

He was married to Anne Fisher Dec. 7, 1940. He served with the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II and was a captain in U.S. Claims. After the war he worked for Farm Bureau of Iowa, Farm Bureau of Nebraska and Grinnell Mutual Reinsurance Co. of Grinnell as a vice president. He was a member of Kiwanis, Masons, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Bethany Lutheran Church.

Surviving are his wife, Anne; a son, J. Thomas (Tom); and three grandsons, all of Cedar Rapids. He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Mark.
