ALL-TERRAIN VEHICLE FATALITY SUNDAY

Christopher Todd Dillon, 20, rural Malcom, was pronounced dead at the scene after an accident involving his four-wheel all-terrain vehicle and a pick-up truck Sunday evening about 7 p.m. on County Road P four miles north and one mile east of the junction of Highways 6 and 63.

Dillon's vehicle came up out of a steep ditch and was hit by the west-bound pick-up driven by Kenneth Raymond Cadden, rural Brooklyn.

The fatality was the second in the county this year. Mark Graham, 21, was killed May 22 when his vehicle collided with a truck north of Malcom on Highway 63.

Funeral services were held Wednesday morning, June 10, at Trinity Lutheran Church near Malcom with the Rev. Gerald F. Brown, pastor of the church, officiating. Organist was Teresa Ziegenmeyer. Pallbearers were Don Crawford, Jim Crawford, Larry Crawford, Chris Falck, Eric Lauritzen and Daryl Morrison Jr., Dick Kelm, Joel Vander Leest, Jim Pinkerton and Rick Pinkerton. Burial was in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery with Smith Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Should friends desire memorials may be made to the Todd Dillon Memorial Fund.

The son of Carl and Judy Van Draska Dillon, he was born Jan. 1, 1967, in Grinnell. He attended Grinnell schools and graduated from Grinnell-Newburg High School with the class of 1985. He had worked at Fareway Food Store and for the past two months had been employed at Wenco.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his parents, one sister Kimberly; his paternal grandparents Charles and Nola Dillon, rural Malcom, and his maternal grandfather Roy Van Draska. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Nona Van Draska.
