MRS. AMELIA BREITING'S FUNERAL SATURDAY

Amelia Burkhardt was born in Germany, Feb. 9, 1854 and died at her home in Grinnell, Iowa, Nov. 19, 1925, aged 71 years, 9 months and 10 days. Her early life was spent in her native land and in 1878 she was united in marriage with Clemens Breiting of Leipsig. Here she made her home until the family came to the United States in 1884. Since then she has lived in the vicinity of Grinnell. She was a member of the Lutheran Church, having been confirmed in that faith in girlhood.

Mrs. Breiting was the mother of seven children all of whom survive her and, with the exception of Mrs. F.T. Snyder of Los Angeles, Cal., who was unable to come at this time, were present at her bedside when the end came. The children are Alfred, Kate, Ethel and Mrs. Clyde Bortell of Grinnell, Walter Breiting and Mrs. Grant Radcliffe of Marshalltown and Mrs. F.T. Snyder of Los Angeles, Cal. She also leaves to mourn her decease twelve grandchildren and a host of friends. Mr. Breiting preceded her in death March 3, 1914. She was a kind and loving mother, always thoughtful and considerate of the welfare of others, cheerful and patient during her failing health of the last two years.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist church on Saturday afternoon at two o'clock conducted by Rev. George Blagg. Two beautiful hymns were sung by Mrs. A.S. Ennis and Mrs. D.H. Snook with Miss Lucile Hays at the organ. Burial was made in Hazelwood.
