OBITUARY.

MRS. JOHN RAMSEY

Died at her home in Grinnell Jan. 28, 1903, of a complication of diseases, Mrs. John Ramsey aged 58 years last July. The deceased was born in Union county in the state of Ohio where she remained until she was 10 years old when she with her parents removed to Dixon, Ill., remaining there till 1866 when she came to Iowa. She was united in marriage to Mr. John Ramsey in Dixon, Ill., in 1866 and in the same year come with her husband to Iowa to settle down on their fam near Gilman.

This union was blessed with four children, two of whom have gone on before and are waiting to greet her at the gate of glory.

For over thirty-eight years she has been a helper in all good works, known and respected by a large circle of friends and acquaintances. She was a good friend, always labored for the interests of the greatest number, took an active part in matters pertaining to public good, was earnest and sincere in advocating her principles and was conscientious in discharging the duties which she believed to be right. She was an active Christian and deeply interested in the welfare of the Church.

She was a true friend, an excellent neighbor, and a loving mother and wife. She had been in poor health for some years and grew gradually worse until Wednesday, the 28th day of January, when she departed from the sorrows of this earth and joined the loved ones in the home beyond the grave.

The funeral was conducted by her former pastor, Rev. R.F. Lavender and her late pastor, Rev. E.M. Vittum at her home in Grinnell and her body laid to rest in the Gilman cemetery beside her two children gone before.
