FUENRAL RITES HELD
CHRISTENA CARTER

Funeral services were held Thursday, June 10 at Bramer Funeral Home for Mrs. Christena Carter, 94. Mrs. Carter died June 8 at Brookhaven Nursing home where she had resided for the last four years. She had been confined to bed for 15 years.

Kenneth Siemens officiated and music was provided by Mrs. Ed Bartachek. Pallbearers were Glenn Mowrey, Earl Wheeler, Woodrow Boyd, Fred Van Renterghem and William Kuntz. Flower attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Roy McCluskey and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Kann. Burial was in the IOOF Cemetery.

Christena Carter, the daughter of William and Mary Smith was born Sept. 12, 1876. She attended school near Hartwick and lived around Brooklyn all her life. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors group for over 50 years.

She was united in marriage to Hillary Edwin Carter, Jan. 1, 1900. They had two sons, Carl of Chelsea and Delmar of Brooklyn.

Survivors include her sons, five grandchildren, Mrs. Max Ryan, Mrs. Harry Kilmer, Robert and Richard Carter of Brooklyn and Mrs. John Taghon of Newton, ten great-grandchildren, one brother, Frank, of Belle Plaine and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three sisters and two brothers.

CARD OF THANKS

We would like to thank each and everyone who remembered us with cards, flowers, food and kind deeds at the death of our mother and grandmother. Also to everyone for the many visits over the 15 years of her confinement to bed and to the staff at Brookhaven for all the fine care. Special thanks to Mr. Siemens. All your kindnesses mean so much at times like this. The family of Christena Carter.
