MRS. OLA PRESTON SUCCUMBS; FUNERAL SERVICES TUESDAY

Ola Cox Preston, 81, Grinnell, died Saturday forenoon at a local hospital, shortly after admission.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday from the James-Schalinske Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Leland Mann, pastor of the Congregational church, officiating. Organist will be Norman Goodbrod. Following cremation, interment will be in Hazelwood cemetery.

The daughter of Emery and Mary Jane Dryden Cox, she was born on July 24th, 1879, at Lynnville. As a youngster she came to Grinnell with her parents. She was a graduate of the Grinnell public schools and attended Grinnell College.

She was married to Jack Preston on June 11th, 1902, in Grinnell and they had made their home here ever since.

Mrs. Preston attended the Congregational church and was an active member of the Women's Fellowship.

Besides her husband, Jack, she is survived by a sister, Mrs. Hallie See Burd of Monrovia, Calif.; a nephew, Branson M. Burd, of Hollywood, Calif.; and a niece, Mrs. Mary Cox Mason of St. Louis, Mo.; and a grand-niece, Mrs. Charles S. Vesel of Milwaukee, Wisc.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Dolph M. Cox; and a sister, who died in infancy.
