NELLIE KINGSLEY RITES SET

Mrs. Nellie G. Kingsley, 92, the widow of Samuel J. Kingsley, died Tuesday evening, May 16, at St. Francis Manor in Grinnell. She was the daughter of Daniel S. and Emma Abiah Saunders Goudie, and was born on July 28, 1885.

She attended the public schools in Taylor County near Bedford, and on Oct. 28, 1908, was married in Bedford to Samuel John Kingsley. The couple lived in Iowa until 1925, when they departed for Colorado. In 1943, they moved to California, and, in 1948, to Washington.

Since 1952, she has made her home in Grinnell. Mrs. Kingsley was a member of the Grinnell First Baptist Church, the Brande Bible Class, and the Isabella Brande Circle.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1966; her parents; her children, Ruth and Mary Emma; and by three brothers and three sisters, Fred Goudie, Mrs. Mary Jones, the Rev. William A. Goudie, Emma Goudie, Ruth Goudie, and Raymond S. Goudie.

She is survived by her children, the Rev. Carl E. Kingsley of Green Lake, Wis., Mrs. Everett (Mildred Mae) Ilk of Denver, Colo., Mrs. James (Nellie Irene) McPherson of Moab, Utah, and Mrs. Monte (Pearl Leone) Payne of Hoquiam, Wash. In addition to her children are five grandchildren, Lloyd Ilk of Denver, Colo., John Ilk of Salt Lake City, Utah, Mrs. George (Karla) Huck of Fond Du Lac, Wis., Mrs. John (Ruby) Panetti of Fond Du Lac, Wis., and Mrs. Jan McPherson Mefret of Salt Lake City, Utah. There are nine great-grandchildren living.

Services for Mrs>.Kingsley will be held at 11 a.m. Friday morning, May 19, at the Grinnell First Baptist Church. The Rev. Hugh A. Shiveley, pastor, will be officiating.

Graveside services will be held at Hazelwood Cemetery. Should friends desire, memorials should be made in Mrs. Kingsley's name to the First Baptist Church in Grinnell or to St. Francis Manor. Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Homes eastside facility until 9 a.m. on Friday, and thereafter at the First Baptist Church.
