SERVICES FOR W. SCHLESSELMAN WED., APRIL 27

The departed, William F. Schlesselman, son of Lewey Schlesselman and his wife, Wilhelmina, was born in Lincoln township on Jan. 15, 1892.

He was received into God's kingdom of grace through the washing of Holy Baptism in 1905 at St. John's Lutheran church in Lincoln township by Pastor Otto Kitzmann. At St. John's he also confirmed his baptismal faith.

He was united in marriage on July 1, 1915 by Rev. Blagg in Montezuma. His wife preceded him in death on May 10, 1970. This union was blessed with three children of whom two survive.

He died sometime Saturday, March 23, while watching television. His body was discovered Monday morning. He reached the age of 82 years on this earth.

He leaves to mourn his passing: two daughters, Dorothy Buettner of Minneapolis and Thelma Van Zele of Moline, Ill.; six grandchildren and one great grandchild; three sisters and two brothers: Anna Lohmann of Saskatchewan, Canada; Elizabeth Wehrle of Wellman; Emmie Schroeder of Cedar Rapids; Red Schlesselman of Cedar Rapids; C.D. Schlesselman of Cedar Rapids and many friends and relatives; four of his brothers and five of his sisters preceded him in death.

Services were held at St. James Lutheran church in Victor with pastor Douglas Lenser officiating. Jane McHarg played the hymns "Beautiful Savior" and "Heaven is My Home." The congregation joined in singing these hymns and in the reading of Psalm 90.

Pallbearers were Alva Neitzel, George Meyer Sr., Rudy Meyer, Paul Kuesel, Joe Van Quekelberghe and Leonard DeKesel.

Following graveside services the body was buried in the IOOF cemetery in Victor.
