ALICE MARGARET MELDREM

Funeral services for Alice Margaret Meldrem, 78, who died Friday, March 6, 1987 at the Rose Haven Nursing Home, Marengo, were held Monday, March 9 at 11 a.m. at St. Bridget's Catholic Church, Victor. The Rev. Eugene Hoenig, pastor, officiated.

Music was provided by the St. Bridget's Choir and Kathy Lynch, Victor, organist. A rosary and scripture service was held on Sunday evening at McAninch-Fremming Funeral Home in Victor.

Burial was in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Belle Plaine, with the following pallbearers: Daniel Bazyn of Belle Plaine, James Bazyn of Victor, Paul Bazyn, Elkader, Richard Bazyn, Grinnell, Eric McDonald of Brooklyn, and Robert Tolbert, Victor.

The daughter of Seraphine and Leona Slock Bazyn, she was born Sept. 11, 1908 at Belle Plaine. She attended school at Belle Plaine.

On April 16, 1935 she married Howard H. Meldrem. The couple lived in Brooklyn and Montezuma before moving to Victor in 1946. Her husband died Feb. 12, 1980. She was a member of St. Bridget's Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society of the church.

Survivors are a sister, Mrs. John (Bertha Ann) DeCoster of rural Brooklyn and two brothers, Rene Bazyn of rural Brooklyn and Maurice Bazyn of Victor. Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband.
