ALBERT HOWELL FUNERAL SERVICES HELD SATURDAY

Funeral services for Albert H. Howell, who died Thursday morning at a local hospital following an extended illness, were held Saturday afternoon from the James-Schalinske Funeral Home.

Officiating was the Rev. C.E. Kingsley, pastor of the First Baptist church. Soloist was Mrs. Noel Taylor, accompanied by Mrs. Kathleen Heffner at the organ.

Pallbearers were Harold Howell, Keith Howell, Clinton Howell, Everett Fenner, Charles Fenner and Clair Fenner. Interment was in Woodland cemetery at Lynnville.

A longtime resident of Grinnell, he was the son of John and Mary Ann Hyatt Howell and was born Nov. 13th, 1875 in the Oak Grove community. He was united in marriage with Ada Sparks on Aug. 16th, 1898 at Lynnville.

They farmed in the Lynnville, Altoona, Newton and New Sharon communities until January, 1951 when they moved to Grinnell. Mrs. Howell preceded him in death on Sept. 5th, 1959 and since then he had made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Henry Steffen of Malcom.

Mr. Howell was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge and the Odd Fellows Lodge of Searsboro.

Survivors include his daughter, Mrs. Henry (Wilma) Steffen of Malcom; his son, Glenn Howell of Grinnell; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and a brother, S.L. Howell of Long Beach, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, four brothers and three sisters.
