JO ROLLINS, 73, DIES SUDDENLY; RITES SATURDAY

Jo Rollins, 73, of Rte. 2, Grinnell, died suddenly Tuesday afternoon at a local hospital shortly after being admitted.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday from the Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. Chester Custer, pastor of the Methodist church, officiating. Organist will be Mrs. Kathleen Heffner. Pallbearers will be Edward Brand, Albert Grimm, Myron Millhollin, Gene Slaven, Harold Smith, and Webb Wallace.

Grinnell Odd Fellows Lodge will give the funeral ritual at the funeral home with Tom Godfrey, Noble Grand, and Harold Bitcon, Chaplain, in charge. The Odd Fellows will also conduct graveside committal rites at Hazelwood cemetery.

The son of John and Verbena Mason Rollins, he was born near Grinnell on Dec. 10th, 1889. He farmed west of Grinenll and had spent his entire life in this vicinity.

He was a member of the Grinnell Odd Fellows Lodge and the Victor Grange.

Mr. Rollins is survived by his daughter, Maxine Ralston of Whittier, Calif.; and one granddaughter, Beatrice Kay Anderson. Also surviving are two sisters, Edith Willis of Colfax and Dolly Sporup of Ontario, Ore.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Jim and Homer Rollins.
