Hannah K. Sopher was born near Westland, Washington county, Penn., April 13, 1823, and was the daughter of Joseph and Phoebe Sopher. In 1840, with her parents she moved to Spiceland, Henry county, Ind. At Greensboro she was married to John W.E. Livezy, Oct. 31, 1850. In 1856 they came to Sugar Creek, Washington township, Poweshiek Co., Iowa. She was converted at 20 years of age, and has lived a Christian life since then. For a while she was a member of the M.E. church, some years later returned to the Friends church. She died March 7, 1897, aged 73 years, 10 mos., 24 days. The funeral took place in the Friends church, Tuesday, 11 a.m., conducted by Rev. Mrs. Parker, of Lynnville. It is hoped that the words which were often spoken by her during her long illness may not only be a comfort but a lesson to all: "My peace is made with God; I am only waiting for his call."
