MRS. PURSE HAD MANY FRIENDS AND RELATIVES

Funeral Services Were Held Wednesday at 2 P.M., From Snyder Bros. Chapel.

Betsy C. Miller was born in the state of New York in the year of 1832, July 3rd and she departed this life Tuesday morning, March 18, 1924 as a result of the infirmities incident to extreme old age. At the time of her death she was 92 years old.

In 1848 she was married to Stephen R. Purse and to this union five children, three girls and two boys, were born. Three of the older children have preceded her in death, also her husband, who died about twenty-two years ago. The remaining children are one son, George Purse now living in California, and one daughter, living in Wright County, Iowa, Mrs. A.B. Nelson.

Eighteen grandchildren are living, one at Oskaloosa, Mr. Charles P. Roe and one living in Grinnell, Mrs. John Mowitt. This venerable old lady leaves great-grandchildren to the number of 23 and some great-great-grandchildren and friends without number, who mourn for a loved one, gone but never to be forgotten.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 from the Chapel at Snyder Bros., Rev. E.W. Cross, conducting, assisted by John C. Lincoln. Mrs. E.B.T. Spencer and Miss Stella Bartlett sang two duets. Pallbearers were three grandsons, Charles P. Roe, Luke Nelson and John Mowitt, two great grandsons, Wiley A. Mowitt and George W. Mowitt and one friend, Tim Hampton.
