The funeral services of Charles O. Jones were held in the Congregational church Sunday at 2 o'clock. Six young men from his class in Sunday school from the Young Men's Christian Association acted as pallbearers, and the association male choir furnished the music. Dr. Safford preached a short, and impressive discourse and deep sorrow was manifested by all as the large audience passed to look for the last time on the face of the young man whom all trusted and no one knew but to love. He had been a member of the church since last March, and was a faithful, earnest Christian. In his faithfulness to Christian duties he has set an example which many an older Christian may well follow. A large number of friends followed the remains to their last resting place in the cemetery, where a few friends sang "Shall we gather at the river?" Dr. Safford, in behalf of the family, thanked all who had shown sympathy and help in the time of sudden affliction, after which he pronounced the benediction. The influence of Charlie Jones; life and his sudden death must be great on the young men of the city.
