ALTA BORING SERVICES HELD

Alta I. Boring, 93, died Wednesday at St. Francis Manor.

Services for Mrs. Boring will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Lawrence P. Fitzpatrick of the Malcom Methodist Church officiating. Organist will be Joan Schneekloth, and pallbearers will be Curt Kinnaird, Tim Kinnaird, Dale Puls, James Puls Jr., Lester (Sonny) Schneekloth and Jack Wakely. Burial will be at Ivy Hill Cemetery, Malcom.

The daughter of Jeff and Ellen Jane Johnson Bagwell, she was born Oct. 23, 1886, at Beloit, Kan. She spent her early years in Missouri, coming to Ottumwa in 1930. She moved to Malcom in 1950 to be near her daughter, Mrs. Price (Sylvia) Shaw. In recent years, she had made her home in Grinnell and at St. Francis Manor.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira Boring, in 1962; two children, Vernie Dykes and Mrs. Sylvia Shaw; and a grandson.

Survivors include her son, Virgil E. Dykes of Vinita, Okla.; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
