--Mr. Alexander Devereux died at his home in Washington twp., Thursday, Dec. 20, at the age of 73 years. Deceased was born in Ireland, and came to this country in 1853 landing at Baltimore. In 1871 he came to Iowa locating in Washington township on the farm on which he died. The funeral service was held Saturday at 10 o'clock a.m., at the church in Searsboro conducted by Rev. Father Moran of Newton. The burial was at Searsboro.
