EARL KAISAND
Earl Kaisand, 56, of Newton died of heart failure Friday, March 22, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at Community Heights Alliance Church in Newton, with the Rev. Larry Spader officiating. Burial was in Newton Union Cemetery, with the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home of Newton in charge of arrangements.
The son of John and Elizabeth Fuller Kaisand, he was born Nov. 20, 1939, in rural Jasper County. He attended rural Grinnell schools and graduated from Newton High School.
He was married to Melinda Thompson Sept. 29, 1979, in Grinnell. Mr. Kaisand was employed by the Maytag Co. in automatic assembly.
Mr. Kaisand was a member of the Community Heights Alliance Church.
He is survived by his wife; one son, Jonathan of Newton; one daughter, Elizabeth Kaisand of Newton; four brothers, Emery of Kellogg, Edmund of Newton, Eugene of Pella and Elmer of Anamosa; and two sisters, Elizabeth Hudnutt of Grinnell and Maxine Rasmussen of Colorado Springs, Colo.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
