B.N. WASSON WAS PROMINENT EWART RESIDENT

Funeral services for B.N. Wasson of Ewart, who died Saturday, were held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon from the United Presbyterian church at Ewart. The Rev. R.G. Smith, pastor of the church, had charge of the services. Interment was in the Ewart cemetery.

Mrs. Cliff Braley and Mrs. Leo Farley sang two selections, "The Lord Is My Shepherd" and "Abide With Me." The pallbearers were David Agnew, Robert Agnew, W. G. Cleland, Cliff Braley, George Morrison and Edward Hamilton.

Following is the obituary:

Benjamin Newton Wasson was born in Montezuma on August 28, 1848, and departed from this life at Ewart on January 26, 1935, at the age of 86 years, four months and 28 days. On July 3, 1875, he was united in marriage to Sarah Margaret Freeman of Crawfordsville, Ind., who preceded him in death May 20, 1914. To this union three children were born: Mrs. Gertrude Jacobs of Barnes City; and Gus and Guy Wasson of Ewart. He leaves to mourn his loss his three children, five grandchildren, Mrs. Thomas Jeffrey, Mrs. Harold Gerard, Mrs. Ernest Opdahl and Marjorie and Fay Wasson; and four great-grandchildren, Doris Mae Jeffrey, Norma and Robert Gerard and Jack Opdahl.

He had been in failing health for several years but was bedfast only for the last four days. He had been in business in Ewart for the past 55 years. He was a quiet, honest and industrious citizen and had won and kept the respect of the entire community.
