DALE KINZEBACH IS CRASH VICTIM

Dale L. Kinzebach, 24, died instantly early Friday morning when the semi-trailer truck he was driving struck a bridge pillar.

According to the Poweshiek County sheriff's office, the accident occurred at about 3:10 a.m. The truck, which was carrying about $40,000 worth of agricultural weed killer, was totally demolished in the mishap. Authorities said Kinzebach apparently fell asleep at the wheel as he was driving in the westbound lane of Interstate 80 four miles west of the Highway 63 interchange.

Two other trucks struck debris caused by the accident and skidded into a ditch. Neither was damaged, however, and no other injuries were reported.
