GUN MISHAP CLAIMS LIFE OF GRANDSON OF MRS. CARRIE NEWTON

Michael Newton, 14-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester (Toots) Newton of Bremen, Ky., was fatally wounded with a .12 gauge shotgun as he played in a wooded area with three companions Dec. 14. No charges were filed against the youths.

Michael was a freshman at Graham Consolidated School. Funeral services were conducted Dec. 16 at Tucker Funeral Home, Central City, Ky.

In addition to his parents he is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Brenda Noles, Cedar Lake, Ind.; Judith Ann Newton and Teressa Arline Newton, both of Bremen; two brothers, Sylvester Miles Newton of Bremen and Richard Leo Newton, Calumet City, Ill.

Mrs. Carrie Newton of Brooklyn was the youth's grandmother and Mrs. Hazel Warfel, also of Brooklyn, an aunt.
