CARL W. KOEHN

The son of John and Minnie Schultz Koehn, Carl was born June 30, 1898 in Lincoln Township. He attended school at St. John's Lutheran School near his home.

On Oct. 12, 1921 he was married to Anna Prashak at St. John's Luterhan Church. The couple owned and operated a Chevrolet dealership in Guernsey and later they moved to Millersburg and operated a restaurant. The couple also farmed for many years near Guernsey and operated a general merchandise store in Guernsey. Anna and Carl moved to Belle Plaine in 1986.

Many years ago, Carl and his brothers were well known for their band and musical talents. In later years, Carl turned to woodworking, and the products of his workbench grace many homes in the Guernsey neighborhood.

Carl is survived by one brother, Elmer Koehn of Marion and several nieces and nephews.

Carl passed away Sunday, Jan. 29 at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. He was 96 years, 6 months and 29 days old. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna, his parents, four brothers and five sisters.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, 1995 at St. John's Lutheran Church, rural Victor.

Music will be provided by organist Mrs. Marna Mohr. Selections to be played are "I Know That My Redeemer Lives," "Abide With Me," and "What A Friend We Have In Jesus."

Casket bearers are Marty Bayers, Roger Kuesel, Ronald Kuesel, Robert Koehn, Jay Lieb and Ted Smyth.

Interment will be at Guernsey Cemetery.
