RITES HELD FOR MR. KEENAN

Francis T. Keenan, 75, of Rte. 4, Grinnell, died at his home Saturday of an apparent heart attack.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Hugh A. Shiveley, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Organist was Kathleen Heffner. Pallbearers were Larry Ashing, Willard Hagen, John Krumm, Eldon Snook, Bryce VanderWilt, Melvin VanWechel, Lawrence Vitera and Dale Pinkerton.

Burial was at Pleasant Township Cemetery at Ewart. Should friends desire, memorials in Mr. Keenan's name may be made to the Heart Fund and left at the Smith Funeral Home.

The son of William and Sarah See Keenan, he was born Aug. 16, 1902, in Washington Township. At an early age, he moved with his family to Grinnell and attended Grinnell schools.

On Oct. 4, 1938, he was married to Caroline Frances Morrison at Montezuma. The couple had one daughter. Mr. and Mrs. Keenan lived southeast of Grinnell for a number of years. Mr. Keenan was a well-known automobile mechanic in Grinnell and was employed at the Hagen Brothers garage for 14 years and the VanWechel Chevrolet garage for 27 years.

He is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Roger K. (Carol Jean) Osborn of Grinnell, and one sister, Mrs. Rose Robison of St. Francis Manor. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife in 1966; a granddaughter, Kimberly Elizabeth Osborn in 1964; one brother, William Keenan; and three sisters, Mrs. Hazel Fetzer, Mrs. Margaret Beason, and Mrs. Minda Garrett.
