STELLA BOWMAN FUNERAL RITES HELD SUNDAY

Funeral services were held Sunday at the Henderson Funeral Home in Toledo for Mrs. Stella J. Bowman, 78, of Rte. 3, Grinnell who died June 13 at her home. Howard Anthony officiated. Burial was at Woodlawn cemetery.

Stella Jane Harbaugh was born Nov. 27, 1878 at Elkport, Iowa, the eldest of 11 children born to Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Harbaugh.

She was united in marriage at Elkader to Lovett Bowman, Oct. 3, 1898. To this union were born nine children: Orva Mercy, Yuma, Ariz.; Verda Cordella, Toledo, Ia.; Elsie Maude, Toledo, Ia.; Aaron R., Clarion, Ia.; Florence Marie, Terre Haute, Ind.; Ernest E., Grinnell; and Betty Jean, Medford, Ore. Two chidlren preceded her in death: Earl Ivan and Juanita Mae.

Survivors include her husband, seven children, 17 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, two sisters, and five brothers.
