BESSIE KIBBEE WATSON

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Bessie Kibbee Watson, 93, of Freeport, Ill., were held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, in the IOOF Cemetery, Brooklyn. Mrs. Watson, a former resident of Brooklyn, died Wednesday, Sept. 25, 1985, in Freeport Memorial Hospital after a long illness.

Rev. Lynn Williams, pastor of the Presbyterian Church, officiated. The Nevenhoven Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Bessie Harmon Kibbee Watson daughter, of Henry and Julia Ann Boyle Harmon, was born Nov. 11, 1892, in Brooklyn, Iowa. She married Elmer Kibbee in Brooklyn and he died in 1939. She later married Clarence L. Watson in 1949. She worked many years for a clothing store in Fseeport, Ill. For the past four years she was a resident of St. Joseph's Home in Freeport.

Surviving are four step-daughters, Mrs. Norma Schafer of Lena, Ill., Mrs. Maxine Lamm and Mrs. Dorothy Ness, both of Freeport, and Mrs. Thelma Cross of German Valley, Ill.; six step-sons, Earl of Lena, Ill., Glenn of Freeport, Howard of Elkhorn, Wis., Carl of Roscoe, Ill., Robert of Chicago, and Oscar of Newcastle, Wyo.; 31 step-grandchildren; and 35 step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Elmer Kibbee and Clarence Watson, and a sister.
